The Winter Garden Village is the modern version of the same thing. It has close to ½ of a square mile of shops, restaurants, boutiques and great parking. Many options for a varied people.
The West Orange Trail is a great way to spend a day and part of the city’s history. It closely follows the path taken by the railroad back in the early 1900’s and goes from the West side of Lake Apopka to the Northeastern side. This is no longer a trail, it is a more of a nice wide sidewalk. There are many places to stop and enjoy and you will see people riding bikes, rollerblades and everything else you can imagine. There are safety features, a police patrol and you can rent a bicycle if you need one.
The largest and most popular for watersports would be Lake Apopka and John’s Lake. Lake Apopka is a 30,862 acre lake. Johns Lake is a 2,439 acre lake. That is a lot of room for water sports of any kind. There are many more smaller lakes and ponds here that water skiers use on a regular basis.

Winter Garden is an incredible city and shares its boundaries with some other great areas. Ocoee is to the East and has Health Central Hospital. Windermere is to the Southeast and has the Butler Chain of Lakes and the best golfing in Florida. Passing through the city are great commuting roads. Namely the Florida Turnpike and the Daniel Webster Western Beltway (the 429). These roads will allow you to pass by more congested areas.
