Winter Oaks is located on the South Side of Plant Street and the North side of West Story Road.
There are 4 ponds that provide water view for the homes and two of them have nice fountains. There is a nice community pool and play area in the center of the community. It is very heavily shaded and you may not notice it unless you are driving through the neighborhood.
The homes in Winter Oaks range in size from 1,297 to 3,216 square feet but all but a couple are over 1,500 square feet of living space. Most of the homes were built between 2003 to 2007. The most expensive home to have sold in the community sold for $425,000. Over the last 5 years this community has averaged selling 7 homes per year. That is an average turnover rate for a community this size.
That park is very large and has many things in it that are great to have next to you. There is a lot of open space to walk around with people you care about or you can catch a ballgame at one of the fields. There are also 4 tennis courts. A great place if you have a young athlete in the family.
Another great option is Lake Apopka. Lake Apopka is just north and if you are wondering it has over 30,800 acres of surface area. There is a public boat launch at Newton Park and a fishing pier. Sometimes the pier has birdwatchers with their cameras. There is a lot of wildlife in that area. Gator Island is just North of it. Winter Oaks has nice homes for sale and the area has what it takes to keep you occupied.
