Windermere Downs is a community of homes North of Lake Down in Windermere Fl

Windermere Downs has 2 entrances. The Western entrance is on Park Ridge Gotha Road and the Eastern Entrance is on Hempel Avenue. This is one of the older communities on Lake Down and one of the larger ones. The drive through Windermere Downs is beautiful. The trees shade the road and the road seems designed for the homes. This is definitely not your typical square neighborhood.

Most of the homes here were built before the year 2000.

As for the sizes of the homes there is only one in the community under 2,000 square feet. There are many homes over 3,000 square feet and several with more than 8,000 square feet of living space in Windermere Downs.

There are 15 homes in this community that are Lakefront.

They are on the Northeastern shore of Lake Down. Lake Down is an 886-acre lake and is a member of the Butler Chain of Lakes. Lake Down gives you access to at least 10 other lakes by boat. If you do not have a lakefront home there is a public boat launch on the South side of Lake Down. The channel to Wauseon Bay-Lake Butler is on the Northwestern side of Lake Down and passes under Maguire Road/Main Street of Windermere Town.

All of the necessities of modern life are within a 3-mile drive of Windermere Downs. Just over 2 miles North on Hempel Avenue there is a Super Walmart and Ocoee’s Health Center Hospital. To the South 2.4 miles from Windermere Downs’ Hempel Avenue entrance is more shopping. The Grove Shopping Center and The Shoppes at Windermere are located here. There are 2 Supermarkets, restaurants and numerous shops and boutiques and much more at this location.
