Westchester

Westchester at Metrowest is a non-gated community in Orlando Florida. Westchester is located 5.5 miles due west of Orlando’s downtown area. The entrances to this community are located on the eastern side of S. Hiawassee Rd. This community is less than ½ of a mile east from Lake Hiawassee.

Westchester is a very nice community of approximately 160 homes. About 20 of the homes are waterfront on one of the two ponds in the community. Construction began on his neighborhood’s homes in 1987 and was mostly finished 2 years later. There are very few exceptions and they are newer. The homes vary in sizes from 1,443 square feet to 2,090 square feet of living area and on average one home sells every 33 days. That is the average for several years now. There are 6 cul-de-sacs in this community and many of the homes have larger irregular shaped yards that many people prefer. The cul-de-sacs also help cut down on unwanted traffic.

Westchester and for that matter Metrowest has several strongpoints to consider. One of them in Valencia College which has its campus less than one mile to the south of this community. It is a beautiful campus and affords all of us the chance to further our education or keep our loved ones close to home for a couple of extra years.

For those who will be commuting out of the area for work it is only a 15 minute drive to downtown Orlando Florida. Many of the locals work in the business district and the roads here can get you there relatively quick. One of the area’s largest employers is Universal Orlando Resort and the associated parks.
