Sandy Shores is a community in Windermere Florida.

Sandy Shores is on the Southwestern Shore of Lake Butler between Lake Butler Sound and Waterstone. This is a small and private community most people do not even know about. There are only 14 homes/home sites in the community. The homes were built over a wide range of dates back to the early-mid 1900’s. One home built in 1950 sold for $4,200,000. Most of the homes will not sell for that much. Eight of the homes are lakefront homes on Lake Butler. The other homes are on a canal providing them with lake access.

Lake Butler is a 1,579-acre lake and is the namesake for the Butler Chain of Lakes.

Lake Butler is connected via channel to at least 10 other lakes. When the water levels are right that number is higher. Lake Butler is one of the nicest lakes in central Florida. There are many million-dollar homes on Lake Butler. That means Sandy Shores is lakefront on what may be the best overall lake in Florida.

Sandy Shores is the Eastern end of Sandy Shores Dr.

Sandy Shores Drive is on the Northeastern side of Winter Garden Vineland Rd. Drive just 1.8 miles South and you have a Publix Supermarket at the Lakeside Village Center. To the North of Sandy Shores 1.3 miles is Cornerstone with another Publix and other stores. Only 4 miles North from Sandy Shores is the Daniel Webster 429 toll road and the Winter Garden Village. The Winter Garden Village has a Lowes, Super Target and many other shops and restaurants.

If you wanted recreation other than the lake, Disney’s Magic Kingdom is only 11 minutes away. Universal Orlando Resort is approximately 20 minutes and The Mall at Millenia is just a few minutes more. I never even mentioned the great golf that is in this area.
